Union Biography

Born in Birmingham in 1946, married with three children lives in Yate. Moved to Bristol permanently in 1974, after working in Bristol for BICC Telephone Cables Ltd. 

Hobbies include motorcycling, drawing, painting, calligraphy, photography, reading and ice-skating. Watch most sports (too old to play now!) Supports Aston Villa, but cannot get to see them very often and this season that's probably a bonus!

 

Joined Post Office Telecommunications in April 1977 as a Maintenance Jointer.

Joined POEU at same time.

 

Became a member of the Bristol External Branch Committee 1984.

Elected Vice Chair  1986 - 1987

Elected Ass Secretary 1987 - 1990

Elected Branch Secretary 1990

 

After the two Bristol Branches merged in 1992 to form Bristol Engineering: elected as Financial Secretary - in office until 1995

1995 Elected Chair of Branch

 

In 1998 Bristol Engineering and Wessex Engineering merged to form South West Engineering Branch.

 

Elected Branch Secretary 1998 to date.
